Yes you will require your own riding gear. a full face helmet, riding jersey and pants plus gloves, goggles, motocross boots and chest protector are recommended.

Yes, the bike is stored at a residential address in The Gardens, Auckland. You will need to provide a vehicle with a tow bar. We will then install the bike rack and will assist with loading the bike onto the rack.

No the bike is not registered and does not meet the requirements of a road worthy vehicle. The bike may only be ridden once at the test ride location.

Will you show me how to operate the bike?

Yes we will undertake a full induction on how to start and stop the bike, how to use the bikes' in-built phone to determine riding speed, power mode and remaining battery life. We will also show you how to set the horsepower and regenerative braking amount via the Varg phone.

Does the Bike have gears and a clutch?

Our Stark Varg Alpha MX1.0 has no gears and no clutch. The left hand lever is a rear brake. the right hand lever is a front brake. There is no gear change lever at your feet. The bike does not have a kickstart lever but is started by pushing a button on the handlebars. The bike cannot be stalled and will only enter neutral after 60 seconds of no throttle input detected. The bike will not reach temperatures much higher than 60 degrees Celcius at any time during normal operation.

What happens if I damage the Bike?

If you damage the bike please notify us immediately via phone or email. We have an insurance policy which is very comprehensive. If you have followed the terms and conditions of the hire agreement there is a high likelihood our insurance will cover any cost of damage repair. Part or all of your bond may be retained to cover the insurance excess.

Can other people ride the bike during my hire period?

No. Unfortunately due to health and safety risks only the inducted and named hirer may operate the bike during the hire period.

How long will the battery last?

Ride time varies greatly depending on your level of experience, the soil type of the track, regenerative braking settings, ride style and many other factors. We have found that the Varg will be nearing zero battery after around 4x 20 minute motos. The Varg should last around 2 hours of sand trail riding time.
